General golf questions

I can't figure out why I keep shanking my irons

I would check the distance you stand from the ball first , if you’re too close the hosel is in place for impact

If it is but I use a single swing plane and my miss is a slice but I usually hit a fade I’d like to try to get it to be more of a draw, is it still possible to use the trs slider with my swing plane

If a slice and a fade are happening with single plane, then the path of swing has to be outside to in.. therefore slider will help keep the path more neutral in turn improving the ball flight (draw)

What is the difference between the TRS Slider and the TRS Ball?

The Slider:

Controls how you move your arm in the swing.

Keeps your arm close to your side but not pinned.

Build the correct top of the back swing position and makes the downswing easier.

The TRS Ball:

It helps with arm structure for the backswing.

Good impact position and keeps the arms in position in the through swing.

Would you advise to use the rotation stick and the slider together ?

Absolutely, we’d recommend half swings to train the movement

Need a training aid for early extension!

The TRS Slider is actually designed to help with that exact issue by stopping your trail arm from getting out of position, which often contributes to early extension.

Any good for a shanked?

Yes! It will force your arms to be in sync with your body, which should help with your shanks

TRS Slider

The slider is too big/small

Adjust the Slider using the instructional video:

(Here is the link to an instructional video from our Founder and ex-European tour player, Liam Bond, on how to do it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/17uuhOBS546sGD3rpqSjHlkg7c4y5vZLe/view?usp=sharing)

Can the Slider be used with a Driver or only with Irons?

It can be used with driver, but mainly we advise practicing with irons, as the feedback would be better :)

How do I use the Slider?

Here are two instructional videos from Robert Rock on how to use the Slider,

https://youtu.be/xFVrFxJHasc?feature=shared

https://youtu.be/pyKNxNLPkAM?feature=shared

Does it help with Hooking?

The Slider can help with hooking, as it creates a good transition in the downswing

Can anyone with a handicap use the Slider?

The slider can be used for all handicaps, no one is exempt from finding the perfect backswing position

Is one of the main selling points to promote a draw shape?

The main use for the slider is to correct arm position at top of backswing and a pure impact position… by doing this if you “slice “ it will promote a better position and therefore help fix a slice

How big is the large Slider?

The large Slider extends to a max of 50”.

The pink arm band does not fit.

All arm bands are a standard size, we are working on developing a bigger arm strap.

Does it work for left handed golfers?

The Slider is ambidextrous, it works exactly the same for both left and right handed golfers.

When you put it on your chest, make sure that the logo on the buckle is right side around, and then you can slide the pink arm strap behind your back to the desired arm. There is no need for a new version or a different version. It's the same one for both left and right handed players. If you would like, I can send you a video on how to move the strap to the desired side.

Does it work for people with short arms?

Yes, the Slider is adjustable.

Will this work with single plane setup, swing?

Single plane or not you still need good arm structure to the backswing

I am a 42” chest, should I get a medium or a large?

Go large to be safe.

Does the small work for kids?

Yes, our Founder’s 8 year old uses it.

What's the main difference between the Slider and a swing jacket?

The slider is called a slider as it slides around the rib cage the swing jacket ties the arm to your side, not what we like , too restrictive.

Does the slider trap your arm to your torso?

No, the Slider keeps your arm at your side without keeping it pinned.

Why would I need more than 1 Slider?

There are many reasons people order more than 1 Slider

To have a spare

For coaches

Ordering for family and friends

You don’t necessarily need more than 1.

My Slider gets folded over.

It mostly happens when the chest strap and arm strap aren’t in a line across when standing up straight.

Is It Actually Impossible To Slice?

Yes nothing is bulletproof and you are able to slice from many positions,

The slider really does make it difficult to slice, and encourages the best impact position that will in turn make it almost impossible to slice.

How Is The Slider Different From Putting A Glove Under Your Arm?

The main difference here is that with a glove, you can't move the trail arm - it's genuinely pinned to your armpit - which is so unlike a real swing.

The slider allows your trail arm to 'slide' in the backswing which is the natural movement.

This difference is very important in being able to practice your swing with your trail arm tucked in for better backswing and impact position.

This video from Robert Rock helps explain a little too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyKNxNLPkAM&t=28s

What is the size of the pink arm band?

43.5CM

Does it help with exit?

I does help with exit , as it stops the arms leaving the body and keeps the right arm sliding on the ribcage , giving a pure exit left

I have leadbetter swing link you think it works the same?

Better than swing link, the sliding action allows the freedom to slide across body, so that the arms aren’t pinned down

If the club face is open at impact one will still slice

If the club face is open it will encourage a slice or a right shot, need that club face square to target line

Does this help with keeping the elbows together in the backswing? My tendency is getting disconnected. My elbows tend to separate thanks…

The TRS ball will be better to keep the elbows from separating, a tool most players on Tour use for this reason

Does the Slider stop you from coming over the top?

It doesn’t stop you coming over the top but certainly helps to stop it,

It will encourage the correct arm movement from top of backswing which in time will eradicate the over the top move.

What are the full benefits of the TRS Slider:

It pins your trail arm to your body which forces you into the right backswing and downswing position - just like the right impact position the pros use. If you hook or slice this will get you feeling exactly where you should be at impact as opposed to trying to force it without a training aid. This video also helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFVrFxJHasc&t=1s

Does it help with an overswing?

The Slider helps perfectly with an overswing as it restricts your trail arm from moving back past your body. You’ll be forced into a compact backswing with no overswing at all

To narrow no width in backswing will this help?

It will help you with appropriate width, but won’t let you practice extra width

I have a chicken wing and often come over the top and out to in with my swing, resulting in a slice. Will this help me?

The slider really does make it difficult to slice, and encourages the best impact position that will in turn make it almost impossible to slice.

Been told I am too narrow with no width in backswing will this help?

It will help you with appropriate width, but won’t let you practice extra width

Does it help casting?

Yes, the Slider can definitely help with casting! It’s designed to sync up your body and arms, which helps eliminate that casting motion. Hope this helps you get those pure strikes!

is this going to train ‘getting in the slot’ or ‘ pocket’?

Yes, really helps with getting in the slot. Watch all the videos and you’ll see :)

My pro tells me to extend the lead arm through the swing, keeping it straight after impact? This appears to keep the left arm bent which may cause a swipe across the ball?

No it won’t keep left arm bent it doesn’t restrict the left arm at all

Does this help with reducing club rotation at impact?

Yes - your arms will be more in sync with the body which will help to stabilise the club at impact

Will this help with my issue: pushing the lead arm too far across the chest in the backswing?

Yes this will help because you are forced to keep arms closer to body and not drift away :)

Will it help with flipping at the bottom?

Yes definitely as the trail arm is under control

I have one of those elastic chest bands that holds the right arm in. I take it this gives you better feedback and a better “slot” than that?

Yes as holding the right arm in doesn’t let it move, so it actually isn’t realistic. This lets your right arm still rotate around the body :)

Can the Slider help with a flat swing?

Yes, it can.

I am 42 sized chest, do I go medium or large?

The medium does extend to a max of 42 inches.

If you're on the larger size of 42, I would go for Large just to give you more wiggle room.

However, when it comes, give it a try ,and if it doesn't fit, we can organize an exchange for you.

I have a draw without it

You will draw without it as your hands and arms become more free after using it, you need to memorise the feels and try to replicate when not using. Hope this helps!

Love this for the back swing but feel like it’s really restricted for the follow-through. Any advice?

Follow-through will feel restricted as it’s making the body and arms work more together, hence not throwing the arms to follow through in a disconnect. For reference, take a look at Tommy Fleetwood through impact, this is so connected and key to great ball striking. Hope this helps!

Doesn’t this just make you narrow?

If you avoid early extension and keep rotating, it shouldn’t narrow you at all.

Do you lose distance and/or width when using the Slider?

You will lose a little bit as you are training a new movement, so controlled speed is better. Once you have the movement sorted, you will have a more efficient swing and actually hit it further

How is it different from the towel drill?

The towel drill is unnatural and keeps the trail arm locked in. The key difference is that with the Slider, it can still move around

Will it help with an inside shot?

Yes, the Slider can definitely help with that! It's designed to help you get your body and arms more synced up, which can prevent the clubhead from coming too far from the inside and causing those thin, heel contact shots.

I hit a draw that turns into a hook as my natural shape. Will the TRS Slider be helpful or make it worse?

The slider will help you put the trail arm into the best place in the backswing to make your swing more efficient, there are many reasons for hooking, but we would recommend maintaining good clubface control with the downswing with the slider and that really should even out to a more neutral ball flight

I hit too many duck hooks. Also struggle with topping the ball with driver and hitting irons too low. Will this training aid help?

If ball flight is low and duck hook is your shot, the Slider will tidy up your backswing and with some quality practice time, delivering the club from a neat backswing position will give the best chance of that straighter ball flight 👌

Will this help with early Extension?

It will help keep arms connected in the backswing and downswing, helping you focus on early extension. It won’t directly fix early extension, but it makes sure you’re not trying to fix multiple things at once

Does this help with high hands at impact?

Yes by not coming over the top and steep

Does it help with hip rotation?

Helps body rotation including hips

Can it be worn on the lead arm?

We have had a couple of customers wear the Slider on their lead arm and have found it very helpful.

I have been pulling or snap hooking shot after shot. Would this help?

3 allow correct approach and exit to avoid any excessive path errors which cause hook 🪝

Didn’t like it for longer clubs as I can’t extend through the ball.

You can achieve necessary extension with all clubs . Extra extension where arms come off body isn’t ideal

And are you supposed to wear all times, even out on the course ?

Not at all times

Range and practice only not competitive

What about it ingraining the Right arm/ elbow tooo ‘ Folded on backswing?

Doesn’t have to fold too much it’s only enhancing connection

I have a question. Not all training aids are fit every swing flaw. How do I know this is something that will correct a fault in my swing? I have an early extension which comes from lack of rotation which sends my club angle high and also in my driver as well as that, I don’t release the club early enough and drag a handle across.

Helps rotation

So the swings are short? At the top of the backswing the trail elbow is usually detached from the body.

Trail elbow should ideally still be slightly connected at the top

Although if it separates at the top to achieve a longer backswing it’s not bad just has to reconnect on the way down

TRS Ball

My ball won’t blow up.

Blow the ball up in a bucket of water and see if there is a puncture.

TRS Rotation Stick

Does the rotation stick hurt when you hit your hip with it?

We suggest many rehearsal swings to perfect the movement, then half wedge shots until you get good at it, keep the speed of swing down and you’ll be fine

Does the men’s stick fit a Jumbo Grip?

No, only men’s regular and midsize.
